Spring 2018 Newsletter

A Message from the Executive Director

It is hard to believe that Spring is upon us. We have been very busy here at Connect 4 Life, with lots of activities happening such as our broadcast training program where we have been engaging our students with many hands-on experiences. We have been developing new programs and focusing on our upcoming Third Annual Bowl-A-Thon. We are pleased to be continuing and developing many partnerships with The Learning Place, Sheridan College, Accessible Media Inc, CBC and many other community partners. We are preparing for another busy summer with lots of community outreach and growing Connect 4 Life to its next stage. We would like to thank all our volunteers and supporters without their support and dedication we would not be able to do the work that we do and a very special thank you to our placement students whose placement will be coming to an end in April. Their learning and growth has been wonderful to watch and their help greatly appreciated. Wishing them much success in their future endeavors. Please stay tuned for our upcoming events and we look forward to continuing to provide our clients with expectational service in the areas of education and training.

Broadcast training students

We're excited to introduce this year's broadcast training students and share with you their positive experiences with the course so far!

Sean Pickard

I really need to thank Melanie and the sponsors of the Broadcast Training Program. This program has allowed me to move past a hump in life, while helping me explore new options and possibilities. The understanding and coaching are second to none, which makes it an easier and smoother learning experience. It is amazing how much you can learn and experience in such a short time.

For me, the broadcast training program has been great. I've had an interest in the field for a long time and this program is allowing me to learn lots about broadcasting with the prospect of employment after graduation. Melanie teaches things very clear and has definitely done her research so she's presenting things as they are. And when there are questions she's willing to address them in a clear way. And what's good in my thinking is we'll repeat stuff until it's clear and we understand it, we're not rushed into moving on before we're ready.
